Donald Trump is the 45th and current president of the United States of America.
Born and raised in Queens, New York City, he took his economics degree from the Wharton School.
Before entering politics, he was a businessman and a television personality. Trump started working at his family’s real estate development company and renamed it The Trump Organization. In the ’80s, Trump started new businesses and opened The Grand Hyatt Hotel, developed the Trump Tower, refurbished the Gulf and Western Building on Columbus Circle turning it in a luxury hotel, and many more. He managed the business until his 2017 inauguration.
He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted the reality television show The Apprentice, that used to judge the business skills of a group of contestants. Donald hosted the show for 14 seasons, from 2003 to 2015.
Trump co-wrote several books, including a bestselling book on the topic of good negotiation (a skill he’s famous for), called The Art of the Deal (2009). Other titles include Time to Get Tough, The America We Deserve, Think Like a Billionaire, How to Get Rich, Surviving at the Top, The Art of the Comeback – books that have sold millions of copies.
In 2016, Trump entered the presidential race as a Republican. He defeated his Democrat opponent Hillary Clinton in November 2016, although she won the popular vote. He is the oldest and wealthiest person to be president of the USA.
