About the book
Emily Ross and Angus Holland follow an earlier best seller with 50 case studies of profitable internet businesses from around the world and the people who founded them. The sites range across travel, gambling, retail, blogging, sex, astrology, financial services, medical testing, celebrities and other entertainment, and include collegehumor.com, lastminute.com and netaporter.com. Their founders share lessons on turning a web venture into a success instead of a dot-com flop, with web innovation, timing and a vast pool of online customers as recurring themes. Large or small, near or far, web business emerges as a small world with nearly limitless opportunity. The collection also brings the stories of Google, Dell and Craigslist up to date, and it was published in 2007.
Yaro Starak, founder of Entrepreneurs-Journey.com, called it a great book in Australia, with short stories on how various sites were founded, some of which he already knew, such as realestate.com.au.

There is this great book in Australia called “50 Great e-Businesses and the Minds Behind Them”. It just had these short stories behind some of the websites I knew about, like realestate.com.au which is a big real-estate website in Australia and it talked about how that was founded and how a bunch of other sites were founded.
