About the book

Kai-Fu Lee, once president of Google China and the author of AI Superpowers, works with novelist Chen Qiufan to imagine how artificial intelligence will shape the world in 2041. Settings among their ten short stories include these: in San Francisco, deep learning displaces workers and a job reallocation industry appears; in Tokyo, a music fan is drawn into celebrity worship via virtual and mixed reality; a Mumbai teenager pushes back when big data intrudes on her romance; in Seoul, orphaned twins connect through virtual companions; in Munich, a rogue scientist plots revenge with quantum computing and computer vision. The authors weigh new wealth and medicine against job loss, autonomous weapons and technology that inherits human bias.

Ray Dalio, who says he rarely recommends books, singled it out for picturing the world 20 years ahead in a way that is well researched and entertainingly written.

While I hardly recommend any books even though I’m asked a lot for recommendations, I recommend AI2041 by @kaifulee & @ChenQiufan because it paints a picture of the future 20 years from now in a well researched and entertainingly written way
