Austin Kleon announced his upcoming book: “Keep Going” (out April 2019)
Now here’s a book for all creatives who feel like they’ve hit a roadblock, burned out, got distracted or are anxious about they need to do next: artist Austin Kleon will release “Keep Going” in April next year (and I’ll definitely buy several copies of it and offer them as gifts to my friends 😛 ).
In Steal Like an Artist and Show your Work!, his awesome previous books, he showed people how to be more creative and be discovered.
“Keep Going” will be promoted through a US tour in 25 cities. I’m a little bit jealous, since I’m a big fan of Austin’s work – I can’t remember exactly when I first discovered him, but I did read and re-read his books a couple of times, and I’m also a loyal reader of his Friday newsletters.
As a preview of the upcoming book, in the video below you can see him talk about the 10 tools that have helped him stay creative in chaotic times – it’s a recording from the beginning of this year, taken at Bond conference in San Francisco:
1. Every day is Groundhog Day.
2. Build a bliss station.
3. Forget the noun, do the verb.
4. Make gifts.
5. The ordinary + extra attention = the extraordinary
6. Slay the art monsters.
7. You’re allowed to change your mind.
8. When in doubt, tidy up.
9. Demons hate fresh air.
10. Plant your garden.
