Neil Patrick Harris tells his life story as an interactive gamebook in the second person, in which the reader lives his life and picks the path. The account starts with his birth in New Mexico and takes in his big break at an acting camp and a strange run-in with actor Scott Caan outside a nightclub. At key moments the reader decides what happens next: whether to audition for Doogie Howser, M.D., whether to spend years struggling with his sexuality, which caviar to eat on Elton John's yacht. Wrong turns lead to endings such as death by piranhas. The memoir also includes magic tricks, cocktail recipes, photos from his years as a child actor and a closing song.
