Cryptoassets

Chris Burniske and Jack Tatar present cryptoassets as a new asset class and offer investors a guide to it. Bitcoin came first, but the authors count more than 800 in all, among them ether, litecoin, monero and ripple. They propose a taxonomy of cryptocurrencies, cryptocommodities and cryptotokens, and provide a framework for investigating and valuing these assets. Other material covers portfolio management that balances return against risk, the history of bubbles and manias, practical guides to wallets, exchanges, ICOs and capital market vehicles, and predictions of how blockchain technology may disrupt existing portfolios. Each chapter builds on the concepts of the one before, and the authors also explain how the assets were created and how they work.

It appears on a list of books Marvin Liao, a partner at 500 Startups, said he was in the middle of reading, shared in a Book-Talk interview.
