About the book
Henry M. Paulson, Jr. draws on a career of dealing with China's leaders, first as head of Goldman Sachs, where he played a key part in opening the country to private enterprise, and then as Treasury secretary, when he created the Strategic Economic Dialogue with China. He has worked with scores of senior Chinese figures, including Xi Jinping, and has had access to the country's three most recent heads of state. The book asks how China became an economic superpower so quickly, how business really gets done there, and how Western business and political leaders can work with and compete against it, and how the U.S. can negotiate with it.
