About the book
From the premise that time is finite, Todd Henry argues that each day of postponed work leaves a deficit for the world, for an employer and for oneself. He describes what keeps people stuck in stagnation and the clutter that chokes discipline, creativity and innovation. His answer is a three-part process. Excavate means finding the bedrock of one's work and what drives it; Cultivate means developing the curiosity, humility and persistence that prevent ruts; Resonate means letting a person's unique strengths inspire others. The aim is to sustain enthusiasm, push through mental barriers and do one's best work every day instead of leaving it for tomorrow.
Cal Newport, a friend of Henry's, wrote the jacket blurb and said it moves past simple slogans to detailed strategies for building a meaningful life.

Cal Newport (Author)
My friend Todd Henry (of The Accidental Creative fame) recently published a new book, Die Empty. Here’s the blurb I wrote for the jacket: “Die Empty looks past simple slogans to highlight detailed strategies for building a meaningful life; a must-read for anyone interested in moving from inspiration to action.”
