About the book

Alice Scott, who writes celebrity fluff pieces, hopes a book about the reclusive octogenarian heiress Margaret Ives will be her big break, while the aloof journalist Hayden Anderson already won a Pulitzer Prize for an earlier biography. Margaret agrees to talk with each of them for a month before choosing her biographer, yet she gives each only pieces of her past, and an NDA stops them from comparing notes. Henry has named the Kennedys, the British royal family, the Murdochs and the Hearsts among her inspirations.
