About the book
A poor camel boy named Hafid is at the center of Og Mandino's story about salesmanship and success. It sets out its philosophy through ten scrolls, Scroll I to Scroll X, which fill chapters 8 to 17. Readers are told to read each scroll three times a day for thirty days before moving on to the next, so following the plan takes about ten months. It advises that good habits are the key to success and bad habits lead to failure. First published in 1968 and reissued by Bantam in 1983, it was later followed by a sequel set fourteen years on.
Matthew McConaughey endorsed it, saying it shaped his life and that he would not be living as he does if it had not found him. Adam Haritan named it his favorite book in the business field, pointing to its parable form and passages meant to be read silently and aloud several times a day.

The Greatest Salesman In The World by Og Mandino is my pick for favorite book in the business field. Unlike most business books, The Greatest Salesman In The World is presented in parable form. Additionally, this book contains timeless passages and lessons that are meant to be read— both silently and aloud — on a daily basis, multiple times per day. It’s not difficult to see what major effects a book presented in this format can have on one’s life.
This book was seminal in my life. I wouldn't be living the life I'm living if it didn't find me.
