About the book
Psychologist and neuroscientist Lisa Feldman Barrett challenges the old assumption that emotions are hardwired, universal and automatic, each tied to its own region of the brain. Drawing on her research, she argues instead that every instance of an emotion is constructed through an interplay of brain, body and culture. The book reports from the front of emotion science and follows the consequences of this view beyond the laboratory, into neuroscience and medicine, the legal system and national security. The change in the field is likened to relativity for physics and natural selection for biology.
Andrew Huberman said he bought and read it with his own money years before he met Barrett, and loved it.

Her first book is "How Emotions Are Made." This is not a book she sent me. I paid for this with my own money years ago. Bought it, read it, loved it long before I met Lisa.
