About the book
Set in the summer of 2000, Emma Brodie's novel begins with seventeen-year-old AJ, who works at a video rental store and dreams of becoming a writer far from her small town. Then Noah walks in, intense and hard to read, the youngest child of a family of great actors. Though they come from very different worlds, they become friends and then acting partners, until Noah disappears without explanation. Seven years on, in New York, AJ lands a role on an intergalactic TV series only to find Noah, now a Hollywood heartthrob, in the same cast. As their characters grow closer on screen, the line between acting and real life starts to blur. It was a Reese's Book Club pick.
Reese Witherspoon chose it as her April pick for Reese's Book Club, saying the story of love, timing and a returning past stayed with her and that she was drawn to how it weighs fate against choice.

Reese Witherspoon (Actress, Author, Founder/Hello Sunshine)
Our April Reese's Book Club pick is here. Into The Blue by Emma Brodie is a story that really stayed with me - about love, timing, and what happens when the past finds its way back into your life. I was so drawn to the way it explores fate versus choice.
