About the book
Orthodontist Sandra Kahn and evolutionist Paul R. Ehrlich argue that shrinking jaws and crooked, crowded teeth are a widespread but overlooked health problem in Western civilization. Beyond appearance, they connect smaller jaws with breathing difficulties and obstructed airways. The authors question whether braces and oral devices, which can straighten teeth, address the underlying causes, and they trace the biological, dietary and cultural changes behind a rapid shift in human oral evolution. They propose simple adjustments to ease the problem, along with a major alternative to orthodontics intended to bring more lasting relief.
Andrew Huberman called it terrific and noted that its authors are his colleagues at Stanford and named the two authors of its foreword.

And there's a terrific book called "Jaws: The Story of a Hidden Epidemic," which was written by my colleagues Sandra Kahn and Paul Ehrlich at Stanford and Stanford Medicine with a foreword by Jared Diamond and Robert Sapolsky.
