Lost Ocean

An underwater world fills Johanna Basford's third coloring book for adults. Its intricate pen and ink drawings are left for readers to finish, color and decorate: coral reefs, wrecked ships crusted with barnacles, seahorses, curious octopuses, schools of exotic fish, shells and pirate treasure. Basford chose a crisp ivory paper with a smooth, untextured surface, suited both to blending colored pencils and to pens, whose nibs move across it without feathering. Her first title, Secret Garden, is often credited with starting the adult coloring trend, and Enchanted Forest came next, in February 2015. This one followed in October 2015, and one edition includes a large double-sided pull-out poster.

Richard Branson named it among his top 65 lifetime reads, a list he drew up for World Book Day.
