At 63, Nikola Tesla wrote a six-part series of articles for Electrical Experimenter magazine about his life and work, and those articles form the core of the book, compiled and edited by Ben Johnston. Tesla's chapters move from his early life and first efforts at invention to what he called the art of telautomatics, the magnifying transmitter, the coil and transformer that bear his name, and how he found the rotating magnetic field. The account comes from a scientist who changed the fields of electricity and magnetism and whose greatest invention was alternating current. The book form adds an 18-page introduction by Johnston, and a corrected text later replaced an earlier online version full of errors.
