About the book
The eleventh president of India, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was also a scientist, teacher and writer, and he tells his life story in an illustrated autobiography. He starts with his childhood in Rameswaram, then turns to the missile and space programmes he worked on, his presidency and his life afterward. Kalam writes that his own story became intertwined with his country's, and that in meeting a million children he learned from them in turn; he wanted every young reader to see the story as theirs too. His anecdotes stress hard work, commitment, courage and new ways of thinking, and the text is written simply for readers of all ages. It was published in 2015.
