The Phoenix Project

Gene Kim, Kevin Behr and George Spafford tell the story of Bill, an IT manager at a company called Parts Unlimited. One Tuesday morning the CEO calls him about Phoenix Project, an IT initiative on which the company's future depends and which is badly over budget and late. Bill must now report directly to the CEO and fix it within ninety days, or his whole department will be outsourced. Guided by a prospective board member and his philosophy of the Three Ways, he starts to recognize how closely IT work resembles the work of a manufacturing plant. He has to organize the flow of work, improve communication between departments and serve the rest of the business.

In an interview about his reading, PentesterLab founder Louis Nyffenegger named it as a book he found very enjoyable.
