A zombie plague invades Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice in Seth Grahame-Smith's parody, which keeps the 1813 novel's text and credits Austen as co-author. In the quiet English village of Meryton, the dead are rising. Elizabeth Bennet, trained like her sisters in martial arts, is set on wiping out the undead, but the arrival of the haughty Mr. Darcy distracts her, and their civil sparring runs alongside bloody battles. The idea came from Quirk Books editor Jason Rekulak, and early attention led the first printing to grow from 12,000 to 60,000 copies. The 2016 film adaptation starred Lily James and Sam Riley.
