About the book
Neal Stephenson's 2011 thriller involves T'Rain, an online role-playing game run by Corporation 9592, the company of billionaire Richard Forthrast. His adopted niece Zula, originally from Eritrea, works for him. When her boyfriend Peter sells stolen credit card data to a buyer who is secretly working for the Russian mob, a ransomware virus called Reamde, spread through the game by hackers in China, locks up the only copy. The story ranges from British Columbia to China and into the game itself, taking in gold farming, social networking and the methods of organized criminals and terrorists.
Readable founder Gabriel Coarna placed it among the top fiction picks on his list of favorite books.

I don’t read “business books”. I may read books which were classified as “Business”, “Leadership”, etc; but, if I do, I do so in spite of the category they’ve been deemed to belong to, not because of it.
I generally split books into three main categories. Here are the titles –sorry, but I simply can’t pick just one– that currently hold the top spots in each:
Fiction: Liu Cixin’s “The Three Body Problem” (trilogy); Neal Stephenson’s “Reamde“; and Audrey Niffenegger’s “The Time Traveler’s Wife“.
