Revolutionary Wealth

Alvin and Heidi Toffler's sequel to The Third Wave, which itself followed Future Shock, asks how wealth will be created in the 21st century and who will get it. The futurist authors contend that such wealth is not only money and cannot be grasped through industrial-age economics, and that institutions left over from mass production fit poorly with the civilization now forming. Central to their case are three deep fundamentals, time, space and knowledge, whose links to wealth are changing. They also widen their earlier idea of the prosumer, showing how unpaid activity such as parenting or blogging feeds the money economy, and describe a third job people do for corporations without pay. Knopf published it in 2006.

Pittsburgh Technology Council chief executive Audrey Russo included it among the books she recommends to young people interested in her career path.
