Salem’s Lot

Stephen King's second novel follows Ben Mears, a writer who returns after many years to Jerusalem's Lot, the small Maine town where he spent part of his childhood. He plans to write about the long-abandoned Marsten House, which has haunted him since he was a boy, and he begins a romance with Susan Norton, a young college graduate. At about the same time a stranger arrives in town. The vampire novel drew a World Fantasy Award nomination, and in interviews during the 1980s King called it his favorite of his own books. It has been adapted twice as a television miniseries and once as a feature film.

Project Include founder Bethanye McKinney Blount said she first read it at age 10 and found it almost scarier when she reread it as an adult.
