About the book
A traveling carnival, Cooger & Dark's Pandemonium Shadow Show, rolls into Green Town, Illinois, after midnight in late October, a week ahead of Halloween, its calliope promising dreams and youth regained. Will Halloway and Jim Nightshade, best friends about to turn 14, run out to watch it arrive, while Will's father Charles, who works at the town library, has a bad feeling about it. Ray Bradbury blends fantasy and horror to examine the good and evil present in every person. He grew the story from his short story The Black Ferris and a film treatment written for Gene Kelly. Published in 1962, it is the middle volume of what Bradbury called his Green Town Trilogy.

I'm in the middle of Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. I really liked Fahrenheit 451 but for whatever reason I didn't read anything else by him. When he died in 2012, I picked up a few more of his books and this one had sat on my shelf for a while. So far I'm loving it, and that's enough of a gain for me.
