The Tao of Physics

Physicist Fritjof Capra compares the picture of reality emerging from modern physics with the worldview of Eastern mysticism and finds parallels between them. He sees two themes running through both: that all phenomena are interrelated and interdependent, and that reality is dynamic by nature. Among his examples are terms from Hindu and Buddhist philosophy, such as karma, lila and samsara, which he shows carry dynamic meanings. Around 1972 Capra went through the manuscript chapter by chapter with Werner Heisenberg. A U.S. bestseller translated into 23 languages, it first appeared in 1975, and an afterword added to the third edition proposes six ideas for a new paradigm in science.
