The Dreaming Void

Peter F. Hamilton's space opera opens a new trilogy set in the far future of his Commonwealth saga, some fifteen centuries after the Commonwealth narrowly survived a war with the alien Prime. At the galaxy's core lies the Void, a sealed micro-universe that cannot be breached or destroyed and keeps expanding, consuming stars and planets in its path. The astrophysicist Inigo begins dreaming of humans living inside it, in a world where thoughts become actions. Shared across the gaiafield, a neural link most humans carry, his dreams give birth to a religion, the Living Dream, before he vanishes. New dreams from an unknown Second Dreamer then inspire a mass Pilgrimage into the Void that could make it grow beyond control.
