About the book
Holly Gramazio builds her comic novel on one strange premise. Coming home late one night to her London flat, Lauren is greeted at the door by Michael, who says he is her husband. She has never married and has never seen him before, yet her friends, her phone's photos and her newly improved flat all say the two have been together for years. While she tries to make sense of it, Michael climbs into the attic to replace a lightbulb and vanishes; a new man comes down, and a slightly altered life forms around her. The attic, Lauren realizes, can supply husbands without end. It was runner-up for the Comedy Women in Print prize.
