About the book
George Friedman, founder of a private intelligence company, attempts to forecast the century's main geopolitical trends and events from historical patterns reaching back hundreds of years. He expects the United States to remain the dominant power, with the century's history shaped largely by other powers' attempts to challenge it. Among his forecasts: the US war with jihadists gives way to a second cold war with Russia, China faces a long internal crisis, Mexico becomes an important power, and a global war around mid-century is fought with smaller armies. Space becomes central to warfare and to a new energy source, and the United States enjoys a golden age in the century's second half. Published in 2009.
Bobby Voicu, founder of The CEO Library, paired it with Flashpoints: The Emerging Crisis in Europe, describing one as a more centric version of the other.
