The authors describe how Jack Kennedy tried to pin the Bay of Pigs on Eisenhower, how Eisenhower quietly helped Reagan in his first race in 1966, and how Richard Nixon worked with Lyndon Johnson and then betrayed him. They also cover the turn from enmity to alliance between Jerry Ford and Jimmy Carter, the bond between the two Bushes, and the rivalry between Clinton and Barack Obama.

Just about to finish this book for the second time. Damn, I can’t say enough about it. If you have even a modicum of interest in US history post WWI, this is beyond required.
