About the book
Michael Craig tells the story of the high-stakes poker games that Andy Beal, a self-made billionaire banker from Dallas, played against top professionals in Las Vegas. Beal arrived at the Bellagio's poker room in Las Vegas in 2001 and went on to challenge players such as Doyle Brunson, Chip Reese, Howard Lederer, Jennifer Harman, Ted Forrest and Phil Ivey to heads-up matches. To face him, the professionals pooled their money into a group known as The Corporation, whose members took turns at the table. The title refers to Lederer as the Professor, Beal as the Banker and Forrest as the Suicide King, and also to the king of hearts. It was published in 2005.
