Robert Iger's 2019 memoir covers his 15 years as chief executive of the Walt Disney Company and the leadership principles he drew from them. He took over in 2005 at a difficult time, with intense competition and fast technological change, and his plan rested on three ideas: commit again to quality, embrace technology rather than fight it, and think globally to strengthen the brand in international markets. Twelve years after he took charge, Disney counted Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel and 21st Century Fox among its holdings. Iger draws on running a company of 200,000 employees and sets out the principles he sees as necessary for leadership, among them optimism, courage, decisiveness and fairness.
