About the book
Evelyn Hugo, an aging, reclusive star of Old Hollywood, decides at last to reveal what really happened in her scandalous, glamorous life, and she picks an unknown magazine reporter, Monique Grant, to write her biography. Monique, whose husband has left her and whose career has stalled, cannot see why she was chosen but resolves to use the chance. In Evelyn's apartment she hears the story: the move to Los Angeles in the 1950s, the exit from show business in the 1980s, and the seven husbands in between. Taylor Jenkins Reid splits the novel into seven parts, each named for a husband with an adjective attached. It was nominated for a Goodreads Choice Award in 2017.
Jacqui Pretty, who founded Grammar Factory, named it as one of the fiction titles she had loved over the past year.

When it comes to fiction, there are so many to choose from! Some books I've loved in the past year include The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
