About the book

Kurt Vonnegut's second novel, a comic work of science fiction, is set in a future North America where the super-rich Malachi Constant has used extraordinary luck to build on his father's fortune. He is offered a trip to the far reaches of space, ending on Saturn's moon Titan among three beautiful sirens, but the offer has a catch, and his refusal sets off a chain of events. Winston Niles Rumfoord, whose spaceship entered a chrono-synclastic infundibulum, now exists as a wave that briefly materializes on planets and knows past and future. The novel weighs free will and the purpose of human history. It first appeared in 1959.

Snappies founder Burly Vinson, who calls Vonnegut his favorite author, said he has always loved it.
