About the book
After his son Lion dies suddenly of a virulent strain of meningitis, Michel and his family are left reeling, and Michel Rostain's novel first meets them eleven days later. The story follows the father through his grief, but it is told through Lion's eyes, the device that tips a true story into fiction. Rostain blurs memoir and the novel in a work of French autobiographical fiction about a father and his son. He handles the subject with wit and vitality rather than sentimentality, so that the book is about life more than death. It was chosen for the Waterstones Eleven list for 2013.
Vincenzo Ruggiero, CEO of Prospect.io, admitted it is not a happy read but said it left him overwhelmed with emotion and called it a book worth reading.

This book is about a dad that tragically lost his son due to a virulent strain of meningitis. Not a very happy book but when I read it I was completely overwhelmed with emotions. Definitely a book to read.
