About the book
Arianna Huffington's wake-up call was a fall caused by exhaustion and lack of sleep, which left her with a broken cheekbone and a gash over her eye. Though she cofounded and edited the Huffington Post Media Group, the scans that followed made her ask whether this was really what success felt like. She argues that chasing money and power alone has fed burnout, stress-related illness and damaged relationships. Borrowing an image from her 2013 commencement address at Smith College, where she said money and power were only two legs of a stool that needs three, she adds a third metric built on well-being, wisdom, wonder and giving. The book became a New York Times best seller.
Dow Chemical chief executive Andrew Liveris appeared with it in a roundup of books CEOs would be reading over the summer. Content marketer Andra Zaharia named it among the books she would read to pursue a marketing career, since she believes the best marketers understand human nature.

While I was thinking of the best books to add to this short list, I realized that not even half of them are directly related to digital marketing. This is because I believe that the best marketers are people who understand human nature deeply and aim to bring out the best in it. Call me naive, but that’s how I see it. If I were to want to pursue a career in marketing, I’d read [...] Thrive.
