About the book
Written as philosophical fiction, Friedrich Nietzsche's work follows the ancient Persian prophet Zarathustra, better known in the West as Zoroaster, as he comes down from his solitude in the mountains to announce that God is dead. Much of the text consists of Zarathustra's discourses, most of which close with the refrain that gives the work its name. Their subjects range from the everyday to war, metaphysics, perspectivism and the amorality of nature. Nietzsche begins or develops several of his core ideas here: the Übermensch, the will to power and eternal recurrence, which he named as its central idea. The character had first appeared in his earlier book The Gay Science, and the figurative style has supported many conflicting readings.
Stephane Grand, managing partner of S.J. Grand Financial and Tax Advisory, called it his favorite book and said he did not think any book he had read resonated with him more.

My favorite book is “Thus spoke Zarathustra” by Friedrich Nietzsche. I do not think I have ever read a book that had more resonance for me.
