About the book
Alexene Farol Follmuth, who also writes as Olivie Blake, author of The Atlas Six, wrote this young adult romantic comedy about taking up space in the world. Viola Reyes is annoyed: her tabletop game campaign, built with great care, has been rejected, her closest friend suggests she try being more likable, and Jack Orsino, the school's star running back, is a lackadaisical Student Body President, which makes her work as vice president harder. She escapes into Twelfth Knight, an online role-playing game in which she plays a masculine alter ego, a knight named Cesario, so that she is taken seriously. Then a football injury leads Jack into the same game.
Reese Witherspoon chose it for Reese's Book Club in 2024.
