About the book
From his childhood as the son of the famous racing driver Graham Hill to the 1996 season in which he was crowned Formula One World Champion, Damon Hill tells his story in his own words for the first time. He describes the chaos and grief after his father's death in a 1975 aircraft accident, which came when Damon was fifteen, and his races against greats including Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher. Hill speaks candidly about the impact of Senna, his teammate, who was killed in 1994, and about watching his own son take up motor racing. The memoir was a number one Sunday Times best seller and was shortlisted for the Cross Sports Book Award.
Peter Attia listed it in the show notes for his podcast episode with Damon Hill.
