About the book
Chiropractor and researcher Joe Dispenza contends that personality is not fixed and that people can override ingrained beliefs and habits by changing their thoughts and emotions. He draws on biology, genetics, brain chemistry, neuroscience and quantum physics, and describes how repeated thoughts and feelings lock people into familiar cycles. The book has three parts: one on the science of the self, one on the brain and meditation, and a week-by-week meditative process with steps that include recognizing, admitting and declaring, surrendering, observing and redirecting, ending with creating and rehearsing a new self. Daniel G. Amen contributes the foreword, and Dispenza presents the method as a bridge between science and spirituality.
Life and Limb Gel founder Chelsea Frank, who says she deliberately reads books with unusual perspectives, included it among the titles that shaped her thinking.
