About the book
Sheila Bair's account of the financial crisis comes from her post as chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, to which George W. Bush appointed her in 2006. She was among the first to see and correctly judge the danger of subprime loans, and in 2008 she joined Ben Bernanke, Timothy Geithner and Hank Paulson as a key figure trying to repair the damage. Bair describes frequent clashes with Geithner, her efforts to rein in the private banks, and the fight for reform that followed. Her version of Citibank's attempt to take over Wachovia shows regulators and banks working against the public interest. The book became a New York Times best seller.

I don't have time for a full review for now; all I have to say is that we have the account of a person who says it the way it was, revealing the types of truths that don't fit the New York Times and others pawns. When history is written, this will be used, not the spin by the bankers' slaves and soldiers (Geithner, Rubin et al.) Bravo Sheila!
