About the book
The One Minute Manager, the short parable by Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson that sold 15 million copies, returns in a new version written for a workplace changed by technology, global markets, instant communication and pressure to do more with less. The story still follows a young man searching for an effective manager, who learns three practical secrets of leading people. The first two remain one minute goals, which make expectations clear, and one minute praisings, which give immediate positive feedback. The change comes in the third: the one minute reprimand of the original becomes the one minute redirect, a way to correct mistakes without discouraging people. The authors also explain why the techniques continue to work.
It appears among the books SOSV general partner Bill Liao named in a book talk.
