About the book
Written by longevity physician Peter Attia with journalist Bill Gifford, the guide argues for preventing age-related disease through lifestyle changes instead of treating it late. Attia treats longevity as both the length and the quality of life, and makes healthspan, the part of life free of disability or disease, a central theme. He names four horsemen of aging: cancer, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and neurodegenerative disease. Against a reactive Medicine 2.0 that treats symptoms, he sets a proactive Medicine 3.0 aimed at root causes. Exercise gets particular weight, including intense training, stability, avoiding injury and raising VO2 max, alongside sleep, nutrition and emotional health. Divided into three parts and 17 chapters, it came out in March 2023.
Bill Ackman said following its teachings could transform, or even save, a reader's life, and Andrew Huberman called it a phenomenal book that he had read cover to cover three times.

This is a phenomenal book. I've read it cover to cover now three times.
There are a few times in life when you read a new book and realize that your life will be transformed if you follow its teachings. @PeterAttiaMD's Outlive is such a book. It can save, or at a minimum massively improve, your life. I can't imagine a better investment for 28 bucks.
