The Intelligent Investor
Sure. Actually, it was the first investment book I read, and as such, it was kind of the inspiration for my career and a lot of my life. So important book.
1929
I read an advance copy of Andrew Sorkin's new book '1929'. Like 'Too Big to Fail', 1929 puts you in the room as the events leading up to the crash and the Great Depression are born and develop. You get to understand the history, meet the players, and watch history unfold.
Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity
There are a few times in life when you read a new book and realize that your life will be transformed if you follow its teachings. @PeterAttiaMD's Outlive is such a book. It can save, or at a minimum massively improve, your life. I can't imagine a better investment for 28 bucks.
America’s Cultural Revolution: How the Radical Left Conquered Everything
It is an excellent and carefully researched book. I found it incredibly elucidating. The first book I have read in years with a pen in hand to enable me to mark the most important passages. A definite must read.
Buffett & Munger Unscripted
This is a book worth buying. I am preordering now. I attended many Berkshire meetings over the years. Buffett and Munger are not just great investors. They are superb educators about business, life and more.
Streetwise: Getting to and Through Goldman Sachs
I just finished Streetwise, in part Lloyd Blankfein's bio as well as a modern-day history of Goldman Sachs. It is a great choice for those interested in Wall Street and the financial markets as well as those seeking career inspiration in finance.
The 5 Types of Wealth: A Transformative Guide to Design Your Dream Life
by Sahil Bloom
Now I am recommending a second one, which is as well written and important, The 5 Types of Wealth by @SahilBloom. In short, the book is a guide to how to live your life. The earlier in your life you read it, the better your life will be.
The Philosopher in the Valley: Alex Karp, Palantir, and the Rise of the Surveillance State
It was a quick, well-written, and fascinating read, in part a biography on Alex Karp as well as a deep dive on @PalantirTech. I found the book to be an honest portrayal of both. Definitely worth a read.
Trillion Dollar Triage: How Jay Powell and the Fed Battled a President and a Pandemic, and Prevented Economic Disaster
I recently read @NickTimiraos book Trillion Dollar Triage which describes how Powell and the @federalreserve managed through the Covid crisis. It is a great book with an inside look at how central bank sausage is made.
