About the book
Bono, lead singer of the Irish rock band U2 and cofounder of the organizations ONE and (RED), tells his own life story in a memoir of forty chapters, each named after a U2 song. He starts with his early years in Dublin, where his mother died suddenly when he was fourteen, and follows the band's unlikely rise into one of the most influential rock groups anywhere. He also writes about more than twenty years of activism against AIDS and extreme poverty, and about the family, friends and faith that shaped him. Forty original drawings by Bono appear in its pages, and its audiobook edition carried the first rearranged versions of those songs.
Bill Gates found it great fun, the story of how a Dublin suburban kid became a world-famous rock star and a philanthropist.
