The Virgin Way

Richard Branson draws on four decades of building the Virgin Group to set out his own approach to leadership, admitting that he has never read a book on the subject. He recounts taking on British Airways and winning, and challenging Coca-Cola and losing, among ventures that others, at times including his own colleagues, dismissed as lunacy. Fun, family, passion and listening are the pillars of what Virgin staff call the Virgin Way. Branson also refers to his own background: he left school at sixteen, has dyslexia and has never worked for anyone else. He offers an inside view of his unconventional, swashbuckling leadership style, and he dislikes the phrase thinking outside the box.
