Satya Nadella is an American business executive, current CEO and Director of Microsoft Corporation.
Born in India, Nadella traveled to the US in ‘88 to study for a Master’s Degree in computer science at University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Prior to joining Microsoft in 1992, Satya was a technology staff member of Sun Microsystems (now acquired by Oracle Corporation).
In 2014, Satya’s position changed from Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group, to CEO and Director of Microsoft Corporation, following Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer.
Since 2017, Satya has been on the board of directors of Starbucks Corp.
In the same year, he published the book Hit Refresh: The Quest to Rediscover Microsoft’s Soul and Imagine a Better Future for Everyone, picturing the inside story of Microsoft’s successful transformation, how it rediscovered its soul and culture, together with his vision regarding how technology will shape the future and the hard challenges we’ll have to face. He’s also telling his own story, from his India childhood to leading Microsoft.
